Amazon, Netlix, YouTube and Hulu Confirmed for Wii U

At the E3 press conference, Nintendo mentioned that Wii U will be a lot more than just a gaming console. Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America said that Wii U will be able to stream videos from YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu and Netflix. However, details on the specific territories are still scarce. But the service will be available in United States from the start.

Nintendo Wii already supports streaming from Netflix and Hulu. It means that the Wii U will be the first Nintendo home console to support the streaming from YouTube and Amazon.

This announcement significantly expands the amount of video on demand content Nintendo has access to. Hulu streams content from Fox, NBC Universal, ABC, News Corp and plenty more media companies. Amazon and Netflix have a library of thousands of feature films. On YouTube, over one hour of user-generated content is uploaded every second.
