Seven things you want to know about Darkness II

In the hustle of holidays, Darkness II couldn’t get any spotlight, but then again, it would be a good idea to let everyone know some pertinent details of this upcoming horror/action game by 2K games. Here are the seven things you should know about Darkness II

Digital Extremes is the developer instead of Starbreeze

The original Darkness was developed by the team behind Chronicles of Riddick, but Darkness II is being developed by Digital Extremes, the company behind Dark Sector, and also have some collaboration with Bioshock 2 and many other unreal games, including a long running franchise Unreal Tournament.

The game is cel-shaded

This might seem awkward to those who played the original Darkness that represented a more darker tone, just like previous games from Starbreeze, but Darkness II is being developed in cel-shaded graphics, similar to those of Borderlands.

The game offers auto-aim, similar to Red Dead Redemption

The original Darkness didn’t had solid shooting element, but it worked quite well with Jackie’s darkness powers. Darkness II will feature more balanced and straight forward shooting and will also have auto-aim for more ease and comfort for those who are new to shooting genre.

Skill upgrades similar to Bioshock

Darkness II will feature a skill-tree system similar to that of Bioshock, you will earn points and use them on your abilities, that will further enhance your combat proficiency, make it gun play or darkness powers, the upgrades will have a prominent impact on the game play.

Fatalities, yes, you heard it right.

The game will have fatalities, unlike the critically acclaimed arcade fighting game, Mortal Kombat, you have to take out the heart of your enemy and feast on it, or tear someone from spine. All this showcase of brutality is not for viewing pleasure, doing so will grant Jackie a health boost.

A level that can cause a lot of controversies

Once you go halfway through the game, you’ll encounter a level, that is likely to cause some serious controversy, not that level is based on some political things, it’s just Jackie stepping into a brothel to collect some information.

Online cooperative multiplayer

The game does not offer a full fledged multiplayer, but it does give you the liberty to play with friends, who’ll control a different character with different set of powers..
