Telltale games has dramatized number of famous franchises in episodic games, including Wallace and Gromit and Back to the Future but none of the games were successful as The Walking Dead did. According to the company, this is the fastest selling game in the history of Telltale games.

The next episode in Walking Dead series is named Starved for Help, is anticipated to launch in June, later this year. On PC, PSN, XBL and Mac. Also, the first episode is scheduled to hit iOS. There are total of 5 episodes in the series.

“There is a huge responsibility on the shoulders of our engine team and our studio to drag this industry into the next generation,” Bleszinski said. “It is up to Epic, and [CEO] Tim Sweeney in particular, to motivate Sony and Microsoft not to phone in what these next consoles are going to be. It needs to be a quantum leap. They need to damn near render Avatar in real time, because I want it and gamers want it–even if they don’t know they want it.”

This raised a question. Why Microsoft and Sony should listen to Epic Games? Sweeney said that the company has more stronger relationship with Sony and Microsoft than anyone else.

“We’re much more in sync with the console makers than any other developer is,” he said. “That means we can give detailed recommendations with a complete understanding of what is going to be commercially possible.”

As for advancements of the Unreal Engine 4 over its predecessors, Sweeney said the new framework includes tools that allow for shortened production cycles and lower development costs. In terms of technical specifics, the new engine includes a new dynamic lighting system, which operates based on calculations of objects’ inherent properties, as opposed to being dictated by preprogrammed effects. This technology will supposedly allow for more realistic lighting, where “colors mix, translucent materials glow, and objects viewed through water refract.”

There is a catch, as customers will need to be enrolled in GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards customer loyalty program in order to receive the invite. When they purchase Ghost Recon on its May 22 launch, PowerUp members will be given a code to redeem at a GameStop website. On that site, players choose whether they want to be in the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 beta test, and they will receive the actual code via email once the beta goes live. Ubisoft will also be giving codes out through its social channels and the game’s official site.

The beta will have six playable classes, as well as several game modes and maps. Players will also get a chance to upgrade and customize their characters. And will also get a hold of the gameplay and zip line mechanics.

Blizzard has apologized for the spotty launch for Diablo III. Diablo III has been marred by rampant errors and server issues, result in a lot of unhappy customers. Blizzard said it’s delaying the launch of the game’s real money auction house beyond the original May 22 date.

Diablo Players:

We’d like to extend a very sincere thank you to everyone who joined the global Diablo III launch celebrations this week, as well as to everyone who was ready to jump into Sanctuary the moment the game went live.

To that end, we’d also like to say that we’ve been humbled by your enthusiasm — and we sincerely regret that your crusade to bring down the Lord of Terror was thwarted not by mobs of demons, but by mortal infrastructure. As many of you are aware, technical issues occurring within hours after the game’s launch led to players experiencing error messages and difficulty logging in. These issues cropped up again last night for the Americas and Europe servers. Despite very aggressive projections, our preparations for the launch of the game did not go far enough.

We’ve been monitoring the game 24/7 and have applied several optimizations to help our systems better weather the global rush. As of late last night, specifically 11:50 PM PDT on May 15, all systems have been online and running relatively smoothly. We’re continuing to monitor performance globally and will be taking further measures as needed to ensure a positive experience for everyone. This includes some maintenance to implement additional improvements for each region.

In order to make sure everything is continuing to run as it should, we’ve decided to move out our target launch for the real-money auction house beyond our original estimated date of May 22. We’ll post further updates on that in the near future.

Aside from the tremendous number of players simultaneously logging in to the game, one of the launch-day service issues was linked to the achievement system. Some players began to notice early on that achievements were either not being earned properly, or not being saved between multiple logins. We’re investigating this issue and will provide a specific update as soon as possible.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s support, and we want to sincerely apologize for the difficulties many of you encountered on day one.
