Square Enix has offered a first glimpse at Final Fantasy XIV 2.0 – a realm reborn. Writing on the official Square Enix blog, community manager Ben Bateman said:
“Previously dubbed Final Fantasy XIV 2.0, a vision was born to rebuild Final Fantasy XIV and craft an improved fan-focused game.
“Now renamed Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, this amazing online experience comes complete with a compelling storyline, advanced gameplay mechanics and a stunning new visual design.”
In addition, Producer/Director of Final Fantasy XIV, Naoki Yoshida, wrote to fans:
“Since announcing our plans for the future of the title last October, we have been working tirelessly to include all of the elements that we have promised in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which we announced today.
“This new title not only becomes a symbol of a completely new Final Fantasy XIV, but also marks the beginning of a new stage as the latest title in the Final Fantasy series. I hope you’re looking forward to it!”
