It’s not a doubt that 2012 is indeed one of the best gaming years so far, with several AAA titles, the first 3 months were simply brilliant, many of these were cross-platforms too, making them even more awesome. Here’s a list of the best games of this year so far. The list is in order.
11) The Darkness II
Darkness II is the sequel to 2007′s critically acclaimed FPS Darkness, based on a Marc Silvestri/Garth Ennis comic. Darkness II puts you in the shoes of a mob boss Jackie Estacado, who has supernatural demonic powers. The game is more dark and violent than the name explains. Dismembering someone was never that fun.

In Warp, you take on the role of a kitschy alien who can warp his way to short distances, it’s like a puzzle game. But that’s not it, because you can also blow up someone like a grenade. The lucky thing is, that you have a whole military base to test this ability and satisfy yourself. That’s the most awesome thing in this game. It’s like a hybrid of Portal and Alien Hominid.
9) Twisted Metal
The classic car combat is back on the next-gen console, with a the legendary diabolic clown, Sweet Tooth as the main character. But remember, if you’re not a hardcore gamer, you’re looking for something far beyond your capabilities. You’re gonna have an extremely hard time playing this game. The true potential of Twisted Metal lies in its multi-player, whether you’re playing with friends or just blowing up stuff. The game never seizes to amaze you.

8) NFL Blitz
At last, we have a football game which is not featuring John Madden, and it’s not completely disappointing. NFL Blitz is an insane game with turbo buttons, violent smashes, and it’s probably the only NFL game out there in which we can make a whole team consisting of pirates or robots. It’s really an amazing game, and crazy sports fan should definitely give it a try.

7) Soul Calibur V
Fighting games are always a treat, but there’s always one thing that’s missing from the game. Weapons. But no reason to fret, Soul Calibur series is always here, with its deep character customization and varied fighting style. Soul Calibur V is one of the best fighting games in the industry, and guess what, you can also use weapons in it. So what are you waiting for. Pick up the swords and fight till you fall.

6) Shank 2
Who doesn’t love 2D side-scrollers? Shank comes back with a brilliant sequel, much improved and varied than the previous installment. Shank 2 offers stylish and bloody gameplay, it feels like a game with a touch from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez by offering gory and brutal combat, and insane and huge boss fights. It can’t get more awesome.

5) The Simpsons Arcade
Simpsons is one of the most watched TV show all over the world. And here we are, with a Simpsons arcade game. Simpsons offers a four-player co-op, you can play with Marge who’ll be having a vacuum cleaner, Bart wh weilds a skateboard, Lisa who wields a jump-rope, and Homer who’ll fight barehanded, like a real man. With Simpsons you’ll have an awesome time beating the shit out of people online.

4) Gotham City Impostors
What would happen if we combine Team Fortress 2 and add characters from the universe of Batman? We will get a game named Gotham City Imposters. It’s an online FPS game, in which Batman wannabees shoot with Joker wannabees. Gadgets are fun, gameplay is fast-paced, and it’s one of the best multiplayer game around in the industry at the moment.

2) Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
We all know that RPG market lacks a game with perfect combat and everything else, well, not anymore. With Kingdoms of Amalur here, we don’t have to worry about lame combat. This game offers brilliant combat, huge world, and awesome array of weapons and armors. It’s one of the best RPG game available.
1) Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3 is the finale to an amazing science-fiction series Mass Effect developed by BioWare. It’s simply the best games of this year. Hell, I say that it’s gonna bag The Game of The Year award for sure and if it doesn’t happen. I’m gonna go on a rage spree. With amazing third-person combat, RPG elements, story choices and an extremely addictive co-op, Mass Effect 3 is the best game of this year. Don’t worry about the people fussing over the ending, it has absolutely no problems.
