Microsoft unveils Windows 8 packaging

The Verge has been the first to show the exclusive pictures of the retail packaging of Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8. Packaging has been shown off for Windows 8 and Windows 8 pro. Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, and Windows RT will all be available on new PCs and tablets from October 26th, and upgrade versions will be available in stores or as an electronic software download.

According to the Windows Design Team, Windows 8 has been “reimagined from the chipset to the user experience,”. Windows 8 features a new user interface based on Microsoft’s Metro design language, similar to that in Windows Phone. Microsoft claims the new interface is designed to better suit touchscreen input, along with traditional mouse and keyboard input.
