S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Cancelled

Sad news for the fans waiting for the sequel of post-apocalyptic shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R, developers GSC Game World have been finally closed down. The company announced this on their Facebook page. The company explained the new investor cannot reach to an agreement with the company owning the rights of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

In another statement it was also mentioned that since December the game has been under development and the employees were working without any pay. The company also searched many developers but couldn’t find any of them.

But not all of this is sad news. Last month, GSC Game World became Vostok Games, a new studio based in Ukraine. The developers signed a deal with Vostok Ventures Ltd. to credit them for their first project, a free-to-play MMO-FPS named Survarium

The game is set in the near future and centers on a “mass-scale ecological catastrophe” that ravages Earth. Survarium is being built using the developer’s proprietary Vostok engine and is expected to be released for the PC at the end of 2013. Its first artwork is embedded above.
