EA is reportedly working on a Need for Speed movie. A statement shows that EA has hired writer John Gatins (Reel Steel) and producer George Gatins (She’s Out of My League) to create a small pitch for the film so that it can show its potential to the film makers.
According to that statement, United Talent Agency (UTA) tacked up a pitch for EA, and it’s already receiving interests from studios about it, including big names like Sony, Paramount and Warner Bros, EA is incorporated with UTA since 2008. Since the partnership between these two, franchises like Sims and Mass Effect are already in the list for their movie adoption.
The latest entry in Need for Speed franchise was Need for Speed:0 The Run, the franchise was annualized in 2002, and it’s next installment is planned for later this year. The franchise has sold more than 100 million units as of 2009.
