Bad news for the Xperia Play users, as Sony’s Xperia Play will not receive Android 4.0 update known as Ice-cream Sandwich. Sony explained the reason, why Xperia Play will not receive the update.
“After extensive in house testing with our developer teams and working with our partners, we have concluded that a consistent and stable experience, particularly with gaming, cannot be guaranteed for this smartphone on Ice Cream Sandwich.”
Sony also explained that if they release the Android 4.0 update for Xperia Play, this could compromise a “quality gaming experience” on the phone. Well, we’re quite sure now that Xperia Play won’t get an Android 4.0 update officially. However, some rom developers are still working hard to release an unofficial rom for Xperia Play.
